The legend for the code is outlined in a book of the same name, authored by Delvin Mallory. These marks are codes that previous thieves have left for future thieves. I wish to see what others think about it. The Thieves Guild is also responsible for the various symbols or runes, called Shadowmarks, etched or printed all around Skyrim. So, what are your thoughts on this? I'm no lore exprt and, as I said, never really played Oblivion or Morrowind, just read a few things here and there about it. Groups that don't have the same rules as the Thieves guild and no bounderies on their actions. This hows that a strong thieves guild serve, ont only as a tool for shady jobs for the Empire, but it also control other goups of bandits around. In one of the quests, you can see that in the absence of this guild, another one starts to rise, but one that kill their targets and comit all kinds ov violent acts. They have strict rules of not killing, protect the poor and beggars and have a flexbility of action that the 'official governent force' have not. The guild is actually a necessary evil to the land. They protected the poor and the beggars and, through their influence/activities, helped the government to have the pper hand over the competition.īy reading some more and playing the game, I actually came to the conclusion to why there is no quest to 'destroy' the thieves guild on Skyrim (aside from the lazyness from bethesda team/impossible deadlines to deliver the game) Never played Oblivion, but from what I read around, the thieves guild from that game was in fact a 'good' guild.
